IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 31, 2003 Duluth, Minn., U.S.A.—Bill Kron, a St. Louis County commissioner
since 1977, was reelected to his third term as Duluth Seaway Port Authority
president at the board's annual meeting Friday (March 28). Kron's background includes experience in the U.S. Navy, and as a steel plant worker, schoolteacher and small business operator. He has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He and his wife and family reside in Duluth. Steve Raukar,
Hibbing, a St. Louis County commissioner since 1989, was elected as
Port Authority vice president. He was originally appointed
to the board in January 1998 by the county board. The Port Authority's seven-member board is made up of two appointees by the governor (one position is presently vacant), two by the St. Louis County Board and three by the Duluth City Council. Each appointment is for six years. - 30 - |
