IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 26, 2004 Duluth, Minn., U.S.A.—St. Louis County Commissioner Bill Kron was reelected to his fourth term as Duluth Seaway Port Authority president at the board's annual meeting Thursday (March 25). Kron's background includes experience in the U.S. Navy, and as a steel plant worker, schoolteacher and small business operator. He has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He and his wife and family reside in Duluth. Steve Raukar, Hibbing, a St. Louis County commissioner since 1989, was reelected as Port Authority vice president. He was originally appointed to the board in January 1998 by the county board. The other officers are Janet E. Nelson, Duluth, secretary; Helena Jackson, Duluth, treasurer, and Thomas E. Cashman, Mankato, assistant treasurer. They are joined on the board by Thomas A. Clure, Duluth, and Senator Cal Larson, Fergus Falls. The Port Authority's seven-member board is made up of two appointees by the governor, two by the St. Louis County Board and three by the Duluth City Council. Each appointment is for six years. -
