Duluth, Minn., U.S.A.—St. Louis County Commissioner Bill Kron has been appointed to his fourth term as a Duluth Seaway Port Authority commissioner by the St. Louis County Board.

The County board originally appointed Kron to the Port Authority board in 1992, and Kron was reelected to his fifth term as Duluth Seaway Port Authority president in March of 2005. He is past chair of the County board and is present chair of the County board’s economic development committee and public safety and correction committee. He has also served as chair of numerous committees within that board over the years.

Kron’s background includes experience in the U.S. Navy, and as a steel plant worker, schoolteacher and small business operator. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He and his wife and family reside in Duluth.

The Port Authority’s seven-member board is made up of three appointees by the Duluth City Council, two by the governor and two by the St. Louis County Board. Each appointment is for six years.

Other board members are Steve Raukar, Hibbing, vice president; Janet E. Nelson, Duluth, secretary; Tom Cashman, Mankato, treasurer; Thomas A. Clure, Duluth, assistant treasurer; Cal Larson, Fergus Falls and Ray Klosowski, Duluth.
