Duluth, Minn., U.S.A. – Adele Yorde was recently named Public Relations Manager for the Duluth Seaway Port Authority. For the past 25 years, she has worked as a communications consultant and freelance writer for a variety of clients across the Upper Midwest.
Yorde started her career in bank marketing in Duluth, was a vice president at H.T. Klatzky & Associates and served as public relations director at the College of St. Scholastica, prior to moving to Sioux Falls, SD and launching her consulting business in 1983.
She is returning to work in Duluth after having spent the last seven years based in Marshfield, Wis., where she was also involved with Rotary, Hospice, and several community fundraising events. Yorde and her husband Steve, chief development officer at Marshfield Clinic, have two grown children.
In her new role at the Port Authority, Yorde will work closely with the executive director and board of commissioners to provide strategic and creative leadership for the Port’s public relations, advertising media and government relations efforts. In addition to coordinating the Port’s special events such as River Quest, Maritime Day and first ship ceremonies, she will act as a liaison for the Port Authority in presentations to local organizations, trade, education, and industry groups.
