Johnson, a former USG Interiors customer relations and transportation official, has been appointed trade development director for the Seaway Port Authority of Duluth. Mr. Johnson, 48, replaced Sam L. Browman (on right, in photo below), who retired in January after 19 years of service. Shipping industry officials, including U.S. Seaway Administrator David G. Sanders (left, in photo below), held a farewell luncheon for Mr. Browman in Montreal.

Mr. Johnson will be responsible for maintaining and establishing programs that retain and generate port commerce. He was with USG Interiors in Cloquet, Minn., for 12 years and had   transportation experience with Conwed Corp., Cloquet, and Cargill, Inc.
