Nautical quilt: "Water is so weak you can put your hand in it, but so strong it can break apart the largest ship," was the caption accompanying this nautical quilt entered in the Minnesota Quilters, Inc., 1997 Conference and Show recently held in Duluth. Created by hand-quilter Susan Slattery and designer Captain Tom Mackay, both of Duluth's Park Point, it won second place in the viewer's choice category.
