Museum Welcomes 10 Millionth

The Army Corps of Engineers' Canal Park Marine Museum, a key attraction in Duluth for more
than 23 years, welcomed its 10 millionth visitor July 1. The museum, now renamed the Lake
Superior Maritime Visitor Center, has anchored Canal Park's redevelopment, stimulating
tourism and major commercial growth. Detroit District Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Thomas
C. Haid congratulated 10 millionth visitor Steve Newhouse of Anoka, Minn., and his family
(wife Mary and children Sam, 14; Micah, 11; Anna, 9; Katherine, 6; and Josh, 9 months).
