To Murphy Oil: Welcome Murphy Oil USA, Inc., made a significant change to Duluth-Superiors waterfront this year with the addition of its Duluth Marine Terminal. It replaced Berth No. 3 at the Arthur M. Clure Public Marine Terminal. The ship refueling station (see accompanying photo) opened in
November after the demolition of an idle vegetable oil tank farm at Complete vessel fueling services had not been available in the Duluth-Superior Harbor since 1996. In the interim, service was provided by dockside truck delivery. The new fueling station provides Superiors Murphy refinery with a marine fueling market in its own backyard. Great Lakes vessels will be the stations primary customers. Headquartered in Eldorado, Ark., Murphy has owned and operated its Superior refinery since 1958. To all our tenants: The Seaway Port Authority of Duluth held its first
annual "Tenant Appreciation Day" this year for the approximately 350 employees
of companies located on Port Authority-owned property. The occasion provided an opportunity to welcome Ed Priem (left, in accompanying photo), senior sales representative, asphalt & residual products, and Bob Macomber, manager of operations and oil movements of Murphy Oil USA, Inc., the Port Authoritys newest waterfront tenant. As a key player in the regions economic development, the Port Authority owns prime real estate on the waterfront as well as at Airpark. The latter is self-contained industrial park located adjacent to the Duluth International Airport. |
