A sure sign of spring was the Panama-flag Spring Laker departing with a spring load of spring wheat for Peru.  The 577-foot general cargo vessel, operated by Shinwa Kaiun-Kaisha Ltd., Tokyo, loaded the 17,850 metric tons of wheat at Superior’s Concourse Grain. Local agent for the vessel was Duluth’s Guthrie-Hubner,  Inc.
