Falk Paper moves to Port property
A regional distributor of printing paper and industrial paper products since 1898 will celebrate its century mark in a new Port location. Falk Paper Company was the oldest tenant in Duluth's Waterfront Plaza. But when Falk learned its location since 1970 was being developed into a hotel, it needed to find a new home. "Space and location were our primary concerns." said Gordie Carlson, Falk vice president and manager. "We needed a large warehouse for product expansion, and we wanted convenient freeway accessto our customers. Fortunately the Port Authority had such a site immediately available." Falk signed a fiveyear lease for 20,250 square feet of renovated office and warehouse space on Port Authority property. Mr. Carlson, with Falk since 1977, said the company added more staff and became operational at the new location in April. Falk's move brings the number of companies now operating on Port Authority properties to more than 50, with about 715 employees..
