Adele Yorde was named public relations manager for the Port Authority in May 2008. Yorde works closely with the executive director and staff to provide strategic and creative leadership for the Port's public relations, advertising, media, and government relations efforts. In addition to coordinating the Port's special events such as River Quest, Maritime Day, and first ship ceremonies, she is secretary of the Propeller Club of Duluth-Superior, and acts as a liaison for the Port Authority in presentations to various civic groups and organizations. Prior to joining the Port Authority, Yorde had worked as a communications consultant and freelance writer for 25 years for a variety of clients across the Upper Midwest. She graduated from the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), worked in bank marketing in Duluth, was a vice president at Klatzky & Associates, and served as public relations director at CSS prior to her freelance career. Through the years, Yorde has been active in Rotary, Hospice, and other service organizations.
