Great Lakes Trans-Atlantic Passenger Service

This service features a series of voyages offered between Europe and the Great Lakes on a number of freighters that will grow with demand and availability. Presently offers information on the general passenger agents for two cargo lines that call at Duluth-Superior and regularly carry passengers into the Great Lakes—Polish Steamship Company, which operates five vessels on the Great Lakes that carry up to six passengers each, and Intership Navigation Co., Ltd., which is building five vessels that will carry up to ten passengers each and will operate in the Fednav, Montreal, fleet (the first two vessels, christened in 2002, were the Federal Weser and Federal EMS.)

NOTE: These vessels often visit Duluth-Superior to load grain. By the nature of this cargo, it isn’t known if Duluth-Superior, Thunder Bay, Toledo or another port will be selected until the cargo is booked. Generally, these vessels receive instructions at Burns Harbor, Ind., to load grain wherever a cargo may be waiting.
