Jan Halverson, 52, a consultant for the American Great Lakes Ports Association, Washington, D.C., died Sept. 18 in Duluth. She was formerly manager of the Western Great Lakes Pilots Association and began her maritime career with Upper Great Lakes Pilots, Inc. Surviving are her husband, Capt. Paul Halverson, and a son, Baron Ziegler.

Clarence E. Erickson, 91, formerly with the P&R Coal Co., Carnegie Coal Co. and proprietor of Erickson Fuel Co., died Aug. 21 in Superior. He had been a member of the Duluth-Superior Harbor Club since 1965.
