Duluth
native Rick Harkins was appointed in January to the Keystone Shipping
Co. engineering department staff in Bala Cynwyd , Penn., as manager
of technical projects. He succeeds Dick Ciliberti, who will remain part-time
to assist with supply continuity on fleet renewal and new construction
opportunities. Keystone owns the Duluth-based KeyLakes/Great Lakes Fleet.
Harkins, a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, was formerly
with the Lake Carriers’ Association in Cleveland.
Jim
Banks, president of Allouez Marine Supply, Inc., has been elected
president of the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association, and Konnie
LeMay, editor of Lake Superior magazine, is the new vice president.
They succeed Davis Helberg, retired Duluth port director,
and Fred Cummings, retired Great Lakes Fleet superintendent,
who had served for three years. Jack Schilling, retired
Duluth accountant, was re-elected treasurer. The association also has
four new board members: Bob Hom of the Duluth Entertainment
& Convention Center, Katie Ferguson of the KeyLakes/Great
Lakes Fleet, Eric Robinson of Grandma’s Inc.
and Anita Zager of Northern Lights Books & Gifts.
Officers and directors were installed at the LSMMA’s annual meeting
in January.
